The Handmade Handbag Process

The body of the bag is designed with a single piece of leather, resulting in a seamless and sophisticated style. Each design is an extensive process of creating a custom handbag pattern, serging a dust bag, sourcing raw materials, hand cutting the materials, treating the leather, and meticulously sewing each piece to create a high-quality bag you can wear for years to come.

The bag is handcrafted personally by Bay Area handbag designer Lisa Ramos in her Clayton, California studio. MONOLISA bags are not mass produced or sold in retail stores. They can only be purchased on this website or at a MONOLISA show.

MONOLISA handbags have been featured at the San Francisco American Craft Show and other additional fine art juried shows. MONOLISA’s mission is to design beautifully handmade limited-edition pieces that add a touch of elegance to any personal style.

Italian Leather Brown Croc Crossbody Bag Details

Bag Leather: Beautiful vegetable-tanned Italian leather with an embossed croc design. A classical high-shine top finish and a firm temper from vegetable tanning. Vegetable-tanned leather is more expensive because it requires more skill and knowledge to tan. This premium leather is handbag designer Lisa’s personal favorite leather to work with.
