What to Expect

The Bodega Bay Fisherman’s Festival is a long-standing coastal tradition celebrating the local fishing community, food, and culture along the Sonoma Coast. Held annually since 1973, this lively waterfront event brings together visitors and locals for a weekend of seafood, music, and community connection.

🦪 Fresh seafood favorites like barbecued oysters, fish & chips, and clam chowder
🍷 Wine tasting featuring Sonoma County wines and local craft beer
🎶 Live music and entertainment on the main stage throughout the weekend
🛍️ Artisan vendors offering handcrafted goods and coastal-inspired finds
🚤 Wooden boat challenge and unique festival activities
👨👩👧 Family-friendly fun including games, crafts, and interactive exhibits

A highlight of the weekend is the Blessing of the Fleet, where decorated boats head out into the harbor for a traditional ceremony honoring the fishing community and those lost at sea. Rooted in history and local tradition, this meaningful event reflects the deep connection between Bodega Bay and its maritime heritage.

This volunteer-run festival supports local community services and nonprofits, making it not only a fun coastal event, but one that gives back to the community it celebrates.
