We hope you enjoy your MONOLISA jewelry pieces. When caring for your earrings, bracelets and necklaces here are some useful tips that will help preserve your pieces.
Sterling silver and plated jewelry will oxidize overtime from wearing your pieces to storing them. Pollution, humidity, chemicals and body chemistry are all contributors to oxidization. To clean your jewelry we recommend using the Sunshine polishing cloth. It is used for cleaning jewelry hardware in gold, silver, brass and other metals. The premium cloth leaves a deep, long-lasting luster to jewelry pieces. The cloth should only be used on metals, not crystals or leather.
If you want to polish your crystals to create more sparkle, clean the elements with a soft lint-free cloth. If your crystals are dirty carefully wash them with mild soap and a soft brush. Rinse the crystal thoroughly with clean water prior to drying with a soft lint-free cloth. Remember not to use any harsh brushes or sponges. For the crystals containing a foil backing - caution not to scratch the foil backing and avoid using any type of brush on the foil. Treat the crystals like glass. They can break or damage if dropped.
Leather Jewelry Care
To preserve your leather jewelry, keep your pieces away from lacquer, perfume or anything containing alcohol. Avoid harsh cleaner or solvents. Extended direct sunlight can damage leather. If your product gets wet, wipe it with a soft cloth and air dry it naturally.
To protect, clean and condition leather, use saddle soap, except on patent leathers. Saddle soap provides just the right amount of moisture required to preserve leather goods. Before using saddle soap, take a lightly moist cloth and clean your leather product. After it dries, dab a little amount of saddle soap on your product and rub it around the leather. Make clockwise rubbing motions on the leather until it is dry. Repeat until you have cleaned the entire leather surface. Use a clean cloth to wipe off any excess residue.
It is important to clean leather on a regular basis. Use saddle soap every few months. It will help protect your leather jewelry, keep it moist and looking beautiful. Avoid cleaning your leather pieces too often. Over cleaning leather can damage the leather. It can cause leather to be too moist, creating mildew and damage the leather item.
